Arnold J Toomes

Arnold J. "Buck" Toomes, age 82, of 4598 Old Greensboro Rd., Randleman died Thursday, June 10, 2010 at The Crest Of Clemmons, Clemmons, NC. Mr. Toomes was a native of Randolph County and a US Army Veteran with the 82nd Airborne. He attended Guilford College and UNC Chapel Hill. Arnold was retired for Boyles Furniture and a member of First United Methodist Church in Randleman. Mr. Toomes is preceded in death by his wife, Sara Brown Toomes, son, Richard Maurice Toomes, parents, Robert Vernon and Allie Hodgin Toomes, three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by one daughter: Elizabeth M. Toomes of Winston- Salem, NC; son, Jay Toomes and his wife, Donna of Randleman, NC; son, John Toomes and his wife, Nickie of Mt. Pleasant; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; sisters: Gayle Millikan of Randleman, NC, and Erma Scarlette of Salisbury, NC. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 13, 2010 from 1:30 - 2:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral will follow at 3:00 PM in the Chapel with Rev. Wade Craven officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery, Randleman. Memorials may be made to Victory Junction Gang, 4500 Adams Way, Randleman, NC 27317
