Maxine Delilah Hodgin James, age 85, of 2576 WOW Road, Randleman, formerly of 310 Summit Rd., High Point, died April 27, 2010 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Maxine was born April 17, 1925. She grew up in Jamestown, NC where she graduated from Jamestown High School. She attended Jamestown Methodist Church and was a member of Crestwood Presbyterian Church in High Point. Maxine worked at Jamestown Weave Mill where she met her future husband George "Pete" James. She was a seamstress all her life and for many years was owner of Maxine's Alterations in High Point. She was the daughter of Charles Henry Hodgin, Sr. and Theo Avis Blackburn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George "Pete" James in 1978 as well as a baby daughter, Helen Maxine Bain, who died at birth in 1960; her brothers, Limon Monroe Hodgin and Charles Henry Hodgin, Jr., and one sister, Mary Elizabeth Hodgin. She is survived by her sons: Steve Bain and wife, Joan, of Randleman; David Bain and wife, Rebecca, of Julian and Donald Bain, of Greensboro; sister, Josie Williams of Greensboro; grandchildren, Emily Pardue and husband, Brian, of High Point, Michael Bain and Tammy of Greensboro, Matthew Bain and Patricia of Asheville, Jason Bain of Greensboro, Thea Elizabeth Bain of California, Erin Marshall and husband Stephen of Sophia, Phil Cromer and wife Amy of High Point, and Mark Cromer and wife, Quinn, of High Point, Chris Lincoski of Brownsville, PA and Larry Lincoski and wife, Anita of East Millsboro, PA; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Chaplains Jack Ogburn and Anne Allred of Randolph Hospital, Tim Pheagin and Rodney Otwell of Hospice of Randolph County and Michael Barrett of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church for excellent spiritual guidance. Carolyn Ashley, Lisa Miller and Gina Hoover of Hospice and Harley Kinsey and Lisa Andrews of Woodland Hills for their devoted professional support to the family; the staff of MTS2 and 3 West at Randolph Hospital for their outstanding care, Pearlie Bullock and her staff of Country Club Rest Home for the five years of dedicated love and care provided to Maxine; and Dr. Haque for the excellent medical care and advise. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 11:00 am at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 600 S. Main St, Randleman, with Rev. Michael Barrett officiating. Interment will follow at Centre Friends Meeting Church Cemetery, 325 E. NC Hwy 62, Greensboro, NC. The family will receive friends of Friday, April 30, 2010, from 6 - 8 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman. The family asks in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Hospice of Randolph County, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27205.
