Joyce Covington

Joyce Jenkins Covington, age 75, of Franklinville died Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Hospice Home of High Point after a long illness. Mrs. Covington was born March 28, 1933 the daughter of Phillip A. and Minnie (Sheron) Jenkins. Joyce was a native of Randolph County and retired from Burlington Mills and a homemaker. She attended non-denominational Union Meetings in various homes for fellowship. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Cecil Covington; loving son-in-law: Joseph "Joe" L. Burge; brothers: Joe Frank and Phillip Earl Jenkins; half-brothers: Fred, Paul, and Homer Jenkins and half-sisters: Cora Williams and Leona Russhille. She is survived by one daughter: Carlene C. Burge of Trinity, NC; grandson and his wife: Joseph Dean Burge and Tara of Trinity, NC; granddaughter and her husband, Jodi Burge Pugh and Ryan of Trinity, NC; great grandchildren: Hannah Deane Pugh, Hayden Pugh, Adam Burge, and Tyler Hartley; and one brother: Charles Wray Jenkins of Franklinville, NC. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 3, 2008, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral will be Thursday, September 4, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, Randleman. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
