William Upton

Clyde William "Bill" Upton, Jr., age 66, of 5055 Old Greensboro Rd., Randleman died Monday, May 5, 2008 at his home. Mr. Upton was born August 26, 1941 in Asheboro, NC the son of Clyde William and Nancy Powers Upton. Mr. Upton was a native of Randolph County. He retired from the U.S Navy after 30 years of service with the rank of Senior Chief, presently employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs in Winston-Salem. In addition to his parents Bill is preceded in death by his wife Linda Rector Upton. He is survived by two daughters: Bonnie Brien of Burlington, Mass. and Julia Bowman of Randleman, NC; three grandchildren: Chelsea Bowman of Randleman, NC, Jesse Brien and Sam Brien both of Burlington, Mass.;one sister: Peggy Bullins of Asheboro, NC. Fiance, Patricia Stanley of Randleman and her children Betty Cox of Greensboro and Calvin Cox of Ramseur. grandchildren, Julia Cox, Jessica Cox, Destiny Kenyon, Damian Cox and Zack Byrd. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 8, 2008 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street in Randleman, NC. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM at Oaklawn Cemetery, Albemarle Road in Asheboro with full Military Honors.
