Vera Redding Cox entered her eternal, heavenly home on Sunday June 6, 2021.
Vera was the 6th of 12 children, born on July 26, 1930, to Dallas Lester and Rachel Dennis Redding of Randleman, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are brothers: Dallas (Dorothy) Redding, Keith (Shirley) Redding, Eugene (Louise) Redding, Earl Redding and sister, Maxine (J. D.) Brookshire, in addition to grandson Jonathan Hezekiah Miller.
Left to adore her memory is Vera's husband of 71 years, Charles (Bud) Cox, Sr. Vera's children who value her unconditional love are Charles W. (C. W.) (Becky) Cox, Jr., Randy G. (Bonita) Cox and Virginia (John) Miller. Grandchildren who were the love of her life are: Adam (Amber) Cox, Justin (Stacy) Cox, Jennifer (Scott) Leonard; great grandchildren: Nathan, Noah, Nolen Cox; Cooper Cox; Joshua, Mason, Emma Briggs; Ryan (Tara), Dylan, Pierce and Mia Leonard; great-great grandchild: Rylinn Leonard. Surviving are brothers; Dennis Redding, J.B. (Sandra) Redding and Thomas Redding; sisters: Nella (Cletus) Lilly, Rose Parsons and Sandra (Tommy) Parris, numerous nieces and nephews are loved and valued by Vera.
Vera and Bud raised their children in the former First Christian Church in Randleman, NC., where she was a choir member, Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher, and was active in their Woman's Fellowship. Vera's Christ-like example and love for others made it easy for her children to believe in the unconditional love of Jesus Christ, as they were taught. Hobbies are reading mysteries (especially Dick Francis), crossword puzzles, drawing, enjoying bird feeders and admiring her beautiful flowers.
Visitation will be at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from noon- 1:30 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.
