Harris Lee Brown, age 78, of Sophia went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem.
Mr. Brown was born April 10, 1942 the son of Cliff and Hazel Dunning Brown. Harris was an entrepreneur and a perfectionist. He founded, owned and operated Southern Classic Seating in Sophia. Harris was a man of his word and loved to be on his tractor, watching old westerns and riding ATV's with his family. He was a pillar of the community and formed the Sophia Fire Department and served as it's Fire Chief for 33 years. Harris was a member at the Seventh Day Church of God Body of Christ Church. Harris is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Adams Brown; sons, Chris (Terrie) Brown of Randleman, Kevin (Jessica) Brown of Randleman, Kyle (Tiffany) Brown of Sophia; daughter by choice, Crystal (Al) Smith of Elon; grandchildren, Cameron, Kolt, Kaylee, Rylee; brother, Jerry Brown of Randleman; numerous nieces and nephews that he adored; and his beautiful green parrot, Ervin.
Harris will lie in state on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 1:00 - 5:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro with Elder William Harwell officiating.
