Linda Marley Trent Trogdon, 92, of Pleasant Garden, NC left this earthly life Thursday February 4, 2021 following a brief illness. Linda was born in Guilford County on January 21, 1929, to the late Arthur Branson Marley and Mary Hanner Marley. She graduated from Pleasant Garden High School and established her career at Jefferson Standard before dedicating many years as the bookkeeper for North Carolina Yearly Meeting. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Trogdon. and is survived by stepchildren Greg Trogdon (Sandra), Robin Newman and Larry Trogdon; and step grandchildren, Casey and Jordan.
Linda was also predeceased by her first husband, John Milton Trent, and older brothers; Cafer, Branson, Eli and Philip.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are the many friends and extended family she adored. Whether near or far, Linda cared deeply for each and every cousin, niece, nephew and friend. She spoke often to them on the phone, used the mail system to connect through letters/cards and walked down the road for face to face conversations with those in the neighborhood.
Her passions were numerous, starting with her relationship with God. She was a believer first and foremost and was forever thankful for her Centre Friends Meeting family. The Friendly Workers Circle was just that to her; a group of friends actively doing God's work, and Linda enjoyed serving alongside them. Giving of her time and energy at the Yearly Meeting, volunteering at Hospice of Randolph County and Mobile Meals, crafting, gardening, crocheting, traveling and keeping up with the well-being of others filled her days.
Linda will lie in repose Sunday February 7, 2021 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home in Randleman, NC (600 South Main Street). A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday February 8, 2021 at Centre Friends Meeting in Greensboro, NC (325 NC-62 East) with Pastor Tommy Sluder officiating.
