Obituary of Annie Lou Carol Dorton
Annie Lou Carol "Cookie" Stokes Dorton, age 78, of High Point passed away Monday, December 21, 2020 at Meridian Center Of High Point, High Point. Mrs. Dorton was born December 8, 1942 the daughter of Samuel and Belva Hatfield Stokes. Cookie was a native of Wyoming County, W. VA. She was the owner and operator of "Cookies Place" in Coal Mountain, W.VA. for several years. Cookie enjoyed gardening her flowers and growing her tomatoes. She had a passion for cooking, and no one was going to turn down her biscuits, cornbread and peanut butter fudge. Cookie never met a stranger and enjoyed flea marketing. In addition to her parents, Cookie is preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bob" Dorton and her brother, Kendal Stokes. She is survived by her daughter: Regina Dorton Chahal and husband Lakhwinder of High Point; sons: Bobby Dorton of Burlington and John Dorton of Ramseur; grandchildren, Raji Chahal (Navneet), Davi Chahal, Sheena Dorton Robbins (Matthew) and Maria Dorton Pineda (Marcus); great grandchildren, Peyton, Jonas, Daniel; sister: Susan Shields (Tony). A private service will be held.
