Obituary of Joe Bill Holland

Joe Bill Holland, age 95, of Pleasant Garden died Sunday, November 15, 2020 at his home. Mr. Holland was born June 22, 1925 the son of Raymond and Alma Cook Holland. Bill was a native of Surry County and served in the US Naval Armed Guard during WWII. He was married June 24, 1950 to Sarah Catharine (Cathy) Woods Holland for 61 years. Cathy preceded him in death in 2011. Bill went to Danville Tech College and retired from Johnson Controls in Greensboro as a HVAC Construction Manager. He was a founding member of the Red Cross Civitan's and Assistant Chief for the Climax Fire Department. Bill was an avid golfer and enjoyed pottery and woodworking. He and his wife taught pottery classes at Randolph Community College. He is survived by his sons: Jamie Holland of Pleasant Garden, David Holland and wife Janet of Pleasant Garden, Jon Holland of Charlotte and Joe Holland, Jr. and wife Michele of Asheboro; grandchildren: Brooke Holland, Kate Holland and husband Adam, Jordan Holland, Sidnie Holland, Noah Holland and Joshua Holland; great grandchild, Mila Augustinowicz; sister, Nancy Holland of High Point. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 12:30 - 1:45 PM at Providence Friends Meeting, 2054 Providence Church Road, Pleasant Garden, NC. The service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Kevin Rollins and Pastor David Longobardo officiating. Burial will be in Providence Friends Meeting Cemetery, Pleasant Garden. Memorials may be made to Red Cross Civitan's, or Providence Friends Meeting, 2054 Providence Church Road, Pleasant Garden, NC 27313.
