Kelly Brian Best, age 56, of Liberty died Friday, July 3, 2020 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Mr. Best was born July 8, 1963 at Clarion, PA the son of the Loyal F. Best and Doris (Beveridge) Best.
Kelly graduated from Redbank Valley High School and attended Clarion University of PA as a music education major.
Kelly worked as parts man for Mack Truck for twenty-five years, then later with Peterbilt.
A gifted singer, Kelly was well-know in and around New Bethlehem, PA, often sought out to sing at celebratory events. He was the lead singer in the Logical Choice Barber Shop quartet, and performed with the group at Carnegie Hall in New York, NY. In addition Kelly sang the national anthem at several Pittsburgh Pirate games in the 1990's. As a member of the Smithwood Christian Church in Liberty, he could be found singing solos and duets. Kelly's faith was important to him, and was seen in his big heart and giving nature. Hw will be sorely missed by friends, family, and his communities
He is survived by his partner Scott Hodgin of Liberty, NC, his mother Doris Best of Fairmount City, PA, two sisters Diane Simpson of Sligo, PA, Barbara Kespelher of Portageville, MO, one brother Loyal "Skip" Best of Fairmount City, PA, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and caregivers Alice Hodgin and Kathy Lineberry both of Liberty, NC.
