Sonny James Martin

Sonny James Martin, age 51, of Sophia went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, April 30, 2020 at his home with his loving wife by his side. Sonny was born August 30, 1968 in High Point. Sonny was a very bold, kind-hearted person who always defended others when they couldn't. He loved children and animals had a special place in his heart. Sonny was an extremely hard worker. Early in his life, he worked construction and for the past 15 years he was a forklift operator at Technimark. When he wasn't working, he loved being outside and doing yard work. Sonny is preceded in death by his parents, Bobby “Sonny Buck” and Margie Church Martin. He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 30 years, Anita Buchanan Martin; sisters, Teresa Miller and husband Johnny of Trinity, Misty Chambers and husband John of Archdale, and various nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made in Sonny’s honor to the organization of the donor’s choice.
