Ruben Allen Rush

On Friday, April 3rd, 2020, Ruben Allen Rush Sr. died at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, N.C. at the age of 69. Ruben was born on September 9th, 1950 in Asheboro, N.C. to John "Mac" and Levena (Pharr) Rush Norris. After attending Asheboro High School, Ruben began working at JRA Industries and then later worked and retired from Good Year Tire and Rubber. Ruben married his wife Barbara Jean (Lunsford) on March 5th, 1976. Together they raised two sons, Ruben and Nathan. Ruben became a Christian in the summer of 1985. At his death he was a faithful member of Bible Truth Baptist Church in High Point, N.C. Ruben was an avid fisherman and hunter, and he enjoyed spending time with his friends and beloved family. He was known for his infectious laugh and his kind and compassionate spirit to serve those around him. Ruben was preceded in death by his father, John Mac, his step-father John Norris, his son Nathan, his brothers Johnny and Ricky, and his two sisters Debra (Rush) Luther and Janie (Rush) Kellem. Ruben is survived by his mother Levena, his wife Barbara, his son Ruben (Trisha), his granddaughter Emmarie Cate (7), his sister Vickie (Rush) Antrim, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. All services will be private.
