Geneva Estelle Scott

Geneva Estelle Wingfield Scott, age 86, of Asheboro died Monday, September 30, 2019 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro.

Geneva was born December 27, 1932 the daughter of Layton and Ella Estelle Gilbert Wingfield.Geneva was a native of Henry County, VA and was retired from Klopman Mills. She was a hard-working woman who raised nine children. She made sure her children always had what they needed. Later in life, she enjoyed visiting family in the Eden area of North Carolina. She is preceded in death by one son: Jerry Lee Gray, one grandson: Jamie Lee Lineberry and one brother: Dillard Wingfield.

She is survived by: daughter and her husband: Carolyn and Frankie Toomes of Randleman, NC; son and his wife: Gary and Pam Gray of Asheboro, NC; daughter: Barbara Gray of Greeneville, TN; Christine Reitzel of Asheboro, NC; son and his wife: Charles and Patricia Gray of Seagrove, NC; son and his wife: Darrell and Anita Gray of Randleman, NC; son and his wife: Kenneth and Shelia Gray of Randleman, NC; daughter: Kathryn Southern of Asheboro, NC; four sisters: Naomi Chumley of Chatham, VA; Phyllis Morefield of Eden, NC; Lucy Emerson of Eden, NC and Carolyn Pulliam of Kernersville, NC; three brothers: John Wingfield of Patrick Springs, VA; James Wingfield of Eden, NC and Randy Wingfield of Ridgeway, VA; 27 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral will be at 2:00 PM in the chapel with Rev. Perry Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
