Obituary of Helen Janet Redding

Helen M. Redding, age 86, of Franklinville went home to be with the Lord Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Randolph Health, Asheboro, NC.

A woman of unwavering faith and family loyalty; heart-broken to have been preceded in death by her loving husband James (Jimmy) Redding, parents, Toy and Irene (Ruth) Mansfield, brothers Richard and Cecil Mansfield and Sister Juanita Schleicher.

She is proud to call Rhonda Milliam of Gulfport, MS and Donna Redding of Franklinville NC, her daughters; James Ray Underwood (wife Sue) of Siler City, her brother; Bill Kegley (Wife Connie) of Marinette, WI, and Lori Poteat (husband Jason) of Winchester VA as her Grandchildren; Jason and Madison Poteat, Lily and Liam Kegley as her Great Children and Landon Carter, as her Great-Great Grandson, as well as a Mother figure to, too many children to name from the Whites Memorial Baptist Church family.

A treasured employee of Hancock's Country Ham, until retiring with over twenty years of service. A lifetime member of Whites Memorial Baptist Church, serving as a beloved Sunday School Teacher to the Primary Class.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 6:00-9:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will be Sunday, December 23, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Whites Memorial Baptist Church, 2930 Whites Memorial Rd., Franklinville with Rev. Jeff Joyce officiating. Burial will follow at Grays Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Our sweet Helen, you have given so much and asked for so little. Thank you for always being there, listening to us, guiding us, loving and forgiving us. We will work hard to reach the standard you have set. You are simply magnificent. Farewell for now, until we meet again. Your loving family.

Helen always worried there would be a child who would go hungry. In lieu of flowers we would ask you to please honor her with donations to the White's Memorial Baptist Church Back Pack program, to feed the children in the area. Please send checks to: Whites Memorial Baptist Church, 2930 Whites Memorial Road, Franklinville, NC 27248.
